Always Looking to Improve
This will be a bit of a different post than you might normally see here.
In my pursuit to better my capabilities, I am always looking for articles or books to read. One such place is a blog titled MCPactions. In one of the posts they talk about how to have the image look the way you want it to be when you get prints. You can find the post here. I thought it may be of some use to everyone, especially if you are enhancing your image on the computer and then when it comes time to print it looks nothing like you imagined.
The two biggest things I gleaned from this article was size ratio and color profiles.
1. Cameras normally take the picture in a ratio that is different than what options are available to print. So if you take a picture and when you get it printed and things have been chopped (cropped) off this is why. The article suggested using a ratio of 11:15.
2. Wondered why your picture looks different online compared to what you saw on your computer? It all has to do with the color profile your image is saved in. Typically a jpeg in the sRGB with be more uniform across multiple platforms.

Friends
During the Holidays, no expense is spared to decorate the interior of our home with elves (especially Anna Lee's). These elves however are not of the Anna Lee variety nor at our home. GG (great-grandmother) has these two elves that J just loves. Last year was a different story as they were taller than her.
Quite the talker
J loves to steal our phones and hold them up to her ear and babble. This time she fished the phone out of my scrub top pocket as she just cleaned up from being outside.
Little Reader
J has more books than toys. She loves to read in the chair, the car, the bed, and everywhere! I know she probably can't actually read but she can sure fake it. She will scan the pages and turn them one by one. She evens laughs on some pages.

Mmmm Mmmm Good!
These last few months have been super crazy while being on Internal Medicine Rotations. I still have one more month left. However last night was an event not to be forgotten.... I got home early enough to make dinner!! We had lemon crusted Mahi-Mahi, fresh green beans, and roasted garlic parmesan mashed potatoes!!

Can't hold me back
After attending Jenna's first birthday party (as a guest) we went out to eat with two other couples and their children at Jason's Deli. During dinner it was stormy and rainy outside. Luckily when we were ready to leave it let up and we had a brief bit of sunshine. I noticed how the clouds were fighting to keep the sun away and wanted to take a picture of it. I only had one lens and nothing else with me. I pulled out my camera and when I looked through the view finder I noticed it didn't look like I thought it did, the exposure was off and there were too many hot spots and there was nothing I could do to correct it. It took me a minute to realize that I needed my polarize filter but I didn't have it with me. What was I going to do, miss this wonderful sight? I realized my sunglasses were polarized and that if I held them in front of the lens I would get the desired effect. This is what turned out.Taken in Aug 2009
